Rogue Round Table was founded in 2024 with a simple, stubborn belief: when Kansas City has a community problem, we don't wait for someone else to fix it. Real change โ even when everyone wants it โ takes time to move through systems and processes. Communities don't have to wait. We can act right now, with our neighbors, our events, and our collective will.
Our first initiative is school lunch debt. Every year, millions of American kids go to school carrying lunch debt they didn't choose and can't pay. In Missouri alone, that number tops $44 million. These aren't statistics, they're kids being pulled from the lunch line and handed a cold cheese sandwich.
"Going rogue to take care of our community problems on our own, and not waiting on our government to help."
We raise money through trivia nights, community events, business partnerships, and creative campaigns. We find schools carrying debt, raise the funds, and clear it. No complicated process. Just people taking care of people.
In our first year, we cleared debt at Apache Elementary and Grain Valley Schools. That's just the start.
Kids don't choose their family's financial situation. Shaming a child for an unpaid lunch balance is cruel, ineffective, and completely solvable. We solve it.
Because even when there's will to help, change moves through processes and procedures that take time. Communities don't have to wait on that timeline. We can organize, raise money, and act right now.
We're building the model to address other unmet community needs, one table at a time. Lunch debt is where we started. It's not where we stop.
We post all donations and payouts publicly. Every dollar is accounted for. You'll always know exactly where your money went.
The Table
We're volunteers, neighbors, and KC lifers who decided to stop waiting and start doing.
Megan co-founded RRT with Heathe and leads the organization, driving strategy, fundraising, and community partnerships.
Keeps RRT moving, managing operations, communications, and strategy so every dollar works as hard as possible.
The spark that started it all. Heathe saw kids being shamed for lunch debt and co-founded RRT with Megan to fix it. Manages all finances with full transparency.
Manages our digital presence and community outreach, helping RRT connect with donors, partners, and the schools that need us most.
What We Stand For
Every decision starts with one question: is this good for Kansas City families?
Kids can't wait for the next budget cycle. We raise money and clear debt as fast as we can.
All donations and payouts posted publicly. No exceptions. No fine print.
Debt is a systems problem, not a people problem. We never assign blame to families.
Lunch debt is our starting point. We're building an organization that can tackle whatever KC needs next.
